President Biden,

 

We,  citizens of Israel, Palestine, the US, the EU, and other countries around the world, call on you to take immediate action to end the war in Gaza. This war can not continue to be waged by Israel without the moral, political, and material support provided by your administration. Therefore, we demand that you

​

1. Publicly call for, and take action towards, an immediate ceasefire, followed by humanitarian aid and release of all hostages and prisoners.

2. Condition continued aid to Israel on concrete steps to end the occupation of the Palestinian people and bring about a political solution to the conflict.

 

The massacre by Hamas on October 7th cannot continue to justify Israel's indiscriminate violence against the civilians of Gaza. Over one in every 100 of the territory’s population has been killed, nearly 2 million have been displaced, and the population is on the brink of famine.

Meanwhile, the government of Israel is showing no signs of changing the way it is waging this war. Nor has it proposed any viable political endgame other than the indefinite military control and oppression of millions of Palestinians. At the same time, Israeli leaders and officials continue to very publicly issue statements of genocidal intent.

You yourself have said numerous times that silence is complicity and that the only way to secure peace is by establishing a Palestinian state. We now ask that you find the moral courage and common sense to end this war, end the occupation, and bring peace to all residents of Israel-Palestine.
